Dr. Muthulakshmi, Ph.D.
President
Dr. Muthulakshmi holds a Ph.D. in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, with a specialization in parental training and counselling. With over 18 years of experience in psychology and social work, she has a strong track record in providing compassionate client services, supportive counselling, and addressing the unique needs of students and individuals. She currently serves as a consultant Psychological Counsellor at the Medical Training Centre & Command Hospital, Indian Air Force, Bangalore. Dr. Muthulakshmi is also a founding member of YETA Solutions, a company dedicated to enhancing employee productivity through psychometric analysis and mental wellness. She is a Chartered Professional Member of the Enneagram Society of India and a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner Trainer.
Rahim Shaik
Secretary
Rahim Shaik is a visionary social entrepreneur and a dedicated advocate for vulnerable children’s rights, education, and empowerment. As the Founder and Secretary of Need Base India, he has been instrumental in transforming the lives of countless children in Karnataka, providing them with safe shelter, educational opportunities, and holistic care. With over 18 years of experience in social work, Rahim’s commitment to social justice and child protection drives Need Base India’s mission to create lasting, positive change.
Under Rahim’s leadership, Need Base India has established multiple residential care homes, community learning centers, and skill development programs that support underprivileged children and marginalized communities. His work addresses critical issues such as child homelessness, access to education, health and nutrition, and women’s empowerment, impacting not only individual lives but also entire communities.
Rahim is recognized for his hands-on approach, deep understanding of community needs, and ability to forge partnerships with government agencies, corporations, and other nonprofits. His dedication to empowering children to overcome their circumstances and pursue brighter futures exemplifies his belief in the transformative power of education, compassion, and resilience.
Sudharsan A
Treasurer
Mr. Sudharsan A. is an accomplished aerospace technologist currently working with the world’s largest aerospace company. With extensive experience in top organizations like L&T, TCS, and HCL, he has also worked internationally in the USA and Israel. A dedicated advocate for vulnerable children, Mr. Sudharsan began his journey with Need Base India in 2013 as a volunteer, contributing to various campaigns, events, and motivational programs. His involvement spans a wide range of impactful activities, including financial audits, program initiation, and strategic support. Mr. Sudharsan has been instrumental in organizing donation drives to support children’s education, infrastructure needs, new clothing, and special occasion food distributions, making a lasting difference in the lives of those in need.
Rajesh P Menon
Board Member
Mr. Rajesh P. Menon, a seasoned IT professional with a master’s degree in Computer Science, is currently a Senior Consultant at a multinational organization. With over 29 years of experience, he has expertise in project management, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and innovation, having led transformational projects and worked with Fortune 500 clients.
Mr. Rajesh’s journey in the social sector began in 2005 with CRY, Mumbai, and he has since contributed to various nonprofit organizations, lending his skills in strategic planning, training, and community engagement. Notably, he coordinated the COLOROTHON event in Bangalore (2014) and Delhi (2017), managing over 100 volunteers. His dedication was recognized in 2019 when he received the REX Karamveer Gold Award (from iCONGO in collaboration with the UN). Mr. Rajesh is passionate about supporting street children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, firmly believing that education is a vital tool to combat poverty and illiteracy.
He began his association with Need Base India (NBI) through a volunteer event in April 2013, later joining as a Board member in 2014. Since then, Mr. Rajesh has been instrumental in guiding NBI on initiatives including branding, fundraising, program development, accounts, and governance. Outside of his professional and social endeavors, he enjoys traveling across India with his camera, singing, and listening to music.
Zehrunnisa Abdul
Board Member
Zehrunnisa Abdul holds an MBA in Finance and brings a wealth of corporate experience, including roles in SAP consulting, team training, and mentoring. While her career has been rewarding, her passion truly lies in community service. For the past 15 years, Zehrunnisa has been dedicated to Need Base India (NBI), where she plays an active role in supporting the holistic development of vulnerable children. Her deep commitment to fostering academic and social growth among the children at NBI’s homes inspires her daily, as she believes that small acts of kindness can lead to lasting, positive change.
Kunal Kabra
Board Member
Mr. Kunal Kabra is a seasoned software engineer with over eight years of experience in the IT industry. As the founder and President of Lakshya – Changing Lives, a registered non-profit organization, he has been instrumental in creating opportunities for underserved communities and has formed a close alliance with Need Base India (NBI). Based in Bangalore, he has been dedicated to NBI’s mission since 2014, driven by a belief that every child deserves access to quality education.
Mr. Kunal is deeply committed to NBI’s approach and envisions a future where children from NBI’s shelter homes grow into successful, empowered individuals with bright careers. He currently serves as the Founder and CEO of Kustodian.Life, where he continues to make a positive impact through his professional and philanthropic work.
Lt Col S Manohar
Board Member
Lt. Col. S. Manohar (Retd.) brings a wealth of expertise in educational administration, with 23 years of distinguished service in the Army Education Corps. His career encompassed roles as an instructor, administrator, Head of School, and key member of management committees for KV Schools, Army Schools, and Garrison Schools. He also served as a psychologist assessor at the Army Staff Selection Board and concluded his military career as the Principal of Rashtriya Military School, Bangalore. Following his early retirement in 2007, Lt. Col. S. Manohar (Retd.) continued to contribute to the education sector in roles such as Principal, Director of School Operations, and Registrar at JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur. His commitment to social impact deepened in 2017 when he joined eVidyaloka as Chief Operating Officer, managing digital education initiatives for nearly 200 government schools across 10 states. Currently, he continues to engage in volunteer and social service work. Lt. Col. S. Manohar (Retd.) holds a B.Sc from Osmania University, an MA in Psychology from Calicut University, and a B.Ed in Educational Technology from Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
